Game Dev Communities

Gaming communities focused on bringing together and supporting game developers. These lists include communities open to anyone working in or pursuing game development, those focused on specific subsets of the community, and those open to content creators. This list is growing all the time! If you see a community we’ve missed, please let us know!

Links marked with an * are safe space communities - you must be a member of the groups they’re dedicated to in order to join them.

Discipline-Specific Communities

These communities are built around specific career paths, skillsets, or studio types within game development. They are typically open to anyone regardless of discipline, professional level, or social group.

Social and Support Communities

These are online communities focused on connecting game devs beyond their career path or discipline. Instead, these are either general game developer networks or are organized by demographic, such as gender or ethnicity.

Broader Gaming Communities

Similar to Social and Support Communities, but more broadly focused on people who make or play games rather than strictly game developers. Includes many streaming and accessibility-focused groups.

Online communities and resources focused on mental health.
